Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel (Korean Skincare Review)

Aloe vera gel! It's everywhere nowadays.

EDIT: This aloe vera gel is no longer sold on iMomoko! I haven't been shopping on there for a while, but I have been checking and a lot of Korean street-brands have no longer been sold on the site. (Not sponsored) Here are some other links to buy this for a super cheap price!

Note: these prices may change. I am listing the prices as I add them to this post :)
$7.00 on YamiBuy.com (based in the USA)
$9.71 on cosmetic-love.com (based in Korea)
$10.18 on Jolse.com (based in Korea)
$10.27 on bbcosmetic.com (based in Korea) --also has the option to buy 2 or 3 for (slightly) cheaper prices.

But this product has been out for a long while now, and it's super popular all over Asia!

For those of you that follow Korean beauty trends, you may already know of this product! Or for fans of the Korean boy band EXO, you may know that they have a commercial for Nature Republic!

This product comes in 300ml or 10.56 fluid ounces. That's a ton of product! It has a hygienic lid to seal the product under the cap, but it's kind of flimsy and doesn't fit the container that well. I didn't even know there was one until I repurchased this because it was stuck under the lid!

As you can see, this is a gel-like consistency. It's clear, but the container makes it look green. It also has a very refreshing smell that is amazing!

Because it's a gel, a little bit of product is more than enough for my entire face! Usually three dabs is the perfect amount!

I purchased this on iMomoko.com, and it says that this is to "protect the skin that is easily damaged by the sun." It is supposed to soth and smooth your skin, making it very moisturized while stimulating the growth of your skin. It also is supposed to remove excess oil making your skin nicely toned and soft.

In addition to doing all of that, there are eight ways to use this! Eight!
  1. As a moisturizer or a face pack
  2. A base for your make up
  3. A cream after you shave
  4. Hair treatment
  5. To relax swollen eyes
  6. Nail essence
  7. Body care
  8. Mask pack for relieving sunburns
This information above came from iMomoko.com in the description box for this product.

For me, I have used this in ways #1, 2, and 3.

1. Moisturizer: this product is great! It spreads very easily and feels like your spreading cool water on your skin that does not drip everywhere (well, it is a gel). It sets and dries on your skin very quickly. The product makes my skin feel slightly taut, though mostly on my T-zone where there's the most oil. After many uses, my skin is super soft and plump. It also brightens my skin!

Face pack: the product absorbs super quickly, so you will need a very, very thick layer of product for it to count as a face pack. After most of it absorbs, you will feel a very sticky layer on your skin. Try rubbing it around! or scraping it off with a spatula. You may see some not-so-white stuff (dirt! impurities! dead skin cells!). Then you just need to wash it off and get some more gel as a moisturizer!

2. Make-up Base: you really want to make sure the product completely sets. Do not apply too much or it will be sticky (or keep massaging all of it in!). It may also make your skin slightly shiny. I tried to put some moisturizer with SPF on top, but the gel wasn't completely set, making my skin shiny and feel very heavy.

3. After shave gel: this is very cooling, so it will help a bit! But if you have sensitive skin, be cautious and test it first because there is some alcohol in this product (it's listed in the ingredients list!).

Overall:

Price: $6.99-$9.99 (the price varies and changes on iMomoko. Other stores have different ($11+) prices. Right now, there is a 2 for $12 deal on iMomoko!)
Appearance: it's very nice and simple; the cap is very easy to twist off and on. Wish there was a spatula though
Smell: a super refreshing smell! (you do get used to it and not notice it anymore though)
Repurchase?: yes! and I already have!

I would give this aloe vera gel a score of 5/5! The product is super simple and easy to use. It's not messy. The product sets quickly and makes my skin super bright and soft. You can see almost immediate results. There is also a lot of product, so it will last quite a while (about 5-6 months if you use it about 2-3 times a day).

I love this product though. I have already finished 1 of them, and already stocked up. So no sponsors; I bought them myself.

Elizavecca Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack (Korean Skincare Review)

Here is part 2 of the Elizavecca product reviews!

The first was the carbonated bubble clay mask.

This one is a "jella pack."

Again, there are some frauds out there, so if you do buy this product, make sure you get the one with the brand name actually on it! It should say Elizavecca Green Piggy on top of the Collagen Jella Pack part!

I bought this product together with my bubble clay mask, and I have been using it after I finish the mask. On iMomoko, it is said to "deeply moisturize and increase elasticity for skin. Skin becomes plumped and smooth, wrinkles are reduced and pores are refined."

First impressions: it's a jelly-like consistency that smells like lychee. It's a pleasant, tropical fruity scent, and the jelly, or jella, is a pale pinkish color.

It comes with a little spatula and a lid to seal and keep the product clean and fresh.

The cool thing about this product is that even after you scoop some product and make the surface uneven and ugly, it will level out by itself!

It will return to its original, flat surface.
A little bit of product goes a long way! Even though it's a jelly like texture when scooping it out, it spreads on your face like a liquid. About 3 pea-size amounts would be enough for my entire face!

I recommend using this at night; it will make your face sticky and shiny looking. It does eventually set and get absorbed into your skin, but it will still leave some shine.

My results? My skin is a lot softer and smoother. It also makes my skin feel thicker and more elastic--the bouncy, plumped skin.

Overall:

Price: $12.50 but $10 after a coupon I had
Appearance: a very cute, compact container! The lid part that seals the product is a bit annoying to get off, but it does its job!
Smell: a nice, lychee smell! Does not bother me at all!
Repurchase?: no

I would give this jella pack a score of 4/5. The product is too sticky for my tastes, and though my skin is a bit softer and smoother, I do not see that many other results (I could simply use my regular moisturizer and get soft skin too). I usually apply it before bed, but because I have combination skin, the oily parts are accentuated; it just becomes a shiny mess by morning.

I do recommend this for people with dry skin (especially older people, like 40s and up)! So that's why I gave it a 4/5. A little bit of product to get that baby-soft and plump skin! I have also read some reviews by some older people, and it works great for them!

I wanted to try this out myself; no sponsors for me. My skin isn't horrible or anything, so I don't know why I bought something with collagen.

Elizavecca Milk Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask (Korean Skincare Review)

Here is a review of this Korean product by Elizavecca.

It is a carbonated clay mask that forms bubbles, as you can tell from it's name.

I have read that there are many frauds of this product; make sure the product you buy or look up that it does indeed have the brand name on it: Elizavecca. The two will look exactly the same except for the brand name.

I bought mine from iMomoko.com. I shall write a review of this site.

The description in iMomoko says it is a "makeup remover and pore cleanser in one." It's supposed to "remove excess dirt and oil and refine pores."

As no one posted a review on iMomoko yet, I found one on Amazon, and someone said that it cleared their blackheads! So I immediately added it to my cart. There were also many other happy reviews.

I do not like blackheads. And they won't go away.

I simply slathered the product all over my face with the help of a little spatula it came with. I used quite a lot, but you could also use a lot less as it spreads very easily.

I have combination skin; very oily around the T-zone and normal/dry skin on the rest of my face. I felt some tingling around my cheeks and around my upper lip (the dry/normal areas). Although the product pretty much started bubbling while I was applying it, I didn't rush and just kept slathering it on.

First lesson: do this before you take a shower.

It has a gooey texture and spreads nicely on the face
Because the tingling kind of progressed into a slight stinging, I started to massage my face a bit early. The bubbles weren't big, but you could see the dark gray turning lighter. You can hear the bubbles pop when you massage it; it's like a very soft plastic bag sound, like you're crumpling it. It's not annoying; I found it quite fun to do. I also read that you should wet your fingers a bit more to make it easier to massage.

Finally, the washing.

This thing is impossible to wash off. It just sticks on your face. I'm not sure if that's how clay masks work, but I sure didn't like leaning over my sink and splashing water all over the floor. The product is slick and easy to massage while you wash it off.

On the second day, I did all of this over again before I went into the shower. This made washing much easier. I also only applied the product on my T-zone, where I was most acne prone. I did not leave the mask on for too long, but the bubbles expanded quite a bit!

Second lesson: give your nose, eyes, and mouth a good inch (or 2cm) distance

Then on the third day, I found online that someone actually left the product on for about 5-6 minutes, and the mask expanded so much! I did the same, and the product pretty much blocked my nose with gray foam, though nothing suffocating. My eyelashes were also getting some of it on them. Because it is so hard to wash this stuff off, it's also impossible to "wipe" it off like if it's near your eyes or mouth. But a little bit of water does the trick!

Overall:

This is a cool and fun product to use, especially before taking a nice shower. It does not make your face extremely dry like other cleansers. It simply makes your face nice and clean. Though I did not see much of a change with my blackheads, it made my face clean without stripping all of the oils

Price: it was listed as $12.50, but with my coupon, I only got it for $10
Appearance: it's a cute container! but annoying to twist open and close
Smell: it's a strange smell, but nothing super bad!
Repurchase?: no

I would give this clay mask a score of 3/5. It does what it's supposed to do: clean. It's just difficult to wash off. If you use this often, there really isn't that much product to use.

I do NOT recommend it for people with sensitive or dry skin.

Here's my review for the jella pack, also by Elizavecca! Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack

I bought this; no sponsors for me. This clay mask was fun. I finished it. I will reuse the container because it is nice.
